Woodruff Sweitzer Announces New Department Directors
Sue Dillon, Gene Petersen will lead portions of agency’s new structure
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (October 27, 2016) — Woodruff Sweitzer (WS) recently announced the promotions of Sue Dillon and Gene Petersen. Both staff members will fully support the agency’s integrated structure, which facilitates collaborative strategy development and implementations for its clients in any channel.
Dillon Named Woodruff Sweitzer Public Relations Director
Dillon recently joined WS from its sister agency, Paradowski, where she also served as public relations director. Her focus at WS will be to leverage her team’s significant public relations expertise to seamlessly provide clients with strategic solutions that deliver results.
To do so, Dillon notes the PR team works closely with all other disciplines in the agency as job descriptions within marketing continue to blur.
“Woodruff Sweitzer has a 360-degree approach to working with our clients, so everyone puts their best thinking on a project,” says Dillon. “From a public relations perspective, that means our team will be utilizing our strength as industry experts on issues, trends and the marketplace to help develop sound approaches to solve our clients’ challenges. We collaborate with our internal team to ensure everything we do supports the overall strategy.”
New Leadership on the Woodruff Sweitzer Digital Team
Petersen has been promoted to WS digital director. In his new position, he is responsible for digital strategy while integrating the digital team into the agency. This supports the agency’s goal of continually improving and perfecting how it meets its clients’ needs across all mediums.
“The role of director of the WS digital team allows me to work not only with our PR and content teams but also closely with our creative group and other departments as we develop websites, apps, inbound marketing campaigns and other outreach for our clients,” Petersen said. “We have the ability to develop numerous digital projects in-house, which helps meet our clients’ needs quicker, too.”
“Through years of experience within the Woodruff Sweitzer organization, Sue and Gene have proven their leadership abilities with our team and with our clients,” said Tim McKim, executive vice president, Woodruff Sweitzer. “This realignment recognizes the rapidly changing media landscape, and it positions WS to best deliver marketing results for our clients.”
