Content Strategist

Smart, strategic, nice people only, please.

Woodruff Sweitzer Calgary is looking for a shiny new Content Strategist. If you’re passionate, smart, strategic-thinking, socially savvy and an absolute delight to work with, you’re almost there.

What else could you possibly need?

Well, agency experience isn’t mandatory, but we sure would perk up if you had some. What you definitely need is four to six years developing content—web, blogs, social media, podcasts…everything that falls under the big, warm “content” blanket. Writing irresistible headlines and posts followed by engaging long copy has been a way of life for years, and you’ve probably even produced a little video as well.

You know your way around social media strategy, calendars, and listening and responding matrixes, and you know matri isn’t a word.

That’s me! What will I be doing?

You’ll report directly to our Creative Director, but work closely with our Insights & Analytics and Strategy teams. From day one, you’ll take the bull by the horns to:

  • Help develop social media/content strategies
  • Apply the strategy to create social media/content plans, including calendars
  • Present strategies and plans to clients and discuss the latest trends in content creation NOTE: you’re so dynamic, you’ll knock their socks off in presentations and become their trusted source for content advice
  • Ensure execution of your plan, from writing to working with Art Directors for visual support to posting
  • Write blogs, web content and social posts for various clients, including WS, you might even write a press release when push comes to shove
  • Stay up to date with social trends, know who the leaders are in this space—hopefully you’re one of them—and sift through research for effective message delivery
  • Work with our digital team on automated marketing
  • Manage all content channels for our clients, reaching out to your network of content developers to round out your team
  • Make your co-workers smile
